Fernando’s piece is mixed media on a 12 inch by 24 inch wood panel canvas.

On the streets of New York, and around the world, "Ski" is known for juicy, colorful bubble letters and clean but wild handstyle. In the studio, Romero shows a delicate passion for capturing emotion and the human experience. "Crosswalk" is a snapshot of a moment in time, a familiar scene that feels quotidian but also dreamlike. The painting uses simplified human silhouettes, but upon closer inspection reveals rough edges and texture that give the piece a vintage photographic feel. A master of wild color, this grayscale painting from Romero is a real departure, and very rare.

Fernando Romero, aka SKI, and Mike Baca, aka 2ESAE, are a New York based artist collaborative team known as UR New York. Their mixed media art pieces are bold to say the least, paying homage to the New York City Streets, and evoking a sense of familiarity that resonates with their viewers. Drawing inspiration from their environment, some of their go-to mediums include photography, silk-screen, graffiti. When they are not brainstorming and experimenting in their studio, they travel in the name of artistic philanthropy, reaching out and exposing the youth of various cultures to graffiti and self expression.
