Jenna Morello: Security Systems

$3,000.00

Jenna’s piece is acrylic paint on found wood. It measures 29 inches by 34 inches.

Morello's beautiful illustrative style is on full display in this painting reflecting, quite literally, a caged heart. Is the human heart on display to be viewed from afar and not touched like an animal in a zoo? Is the cage protecting us from seeing what the person is really made of? Maybe we all protect ourselves by not ever allowing another soul to fully touch our own. "Security Systems" is painted on found wood which looks and feels like a fireplace mantle, which is no accident.

Brooklyn-based artist Jenna Morello first gained international exposure after becoming the first runner up on Oxygen Network’s “StreetArt Throwdown.” Jenna is a versatile artist who is equally at home creating large-scale, bold, expressive walls as well as intimate, meticulously crafted gallery pieces. She combines multiple mediums to create art that conveys the point of view of an introspective mind. Her work can be seen across the country in solo and group shows, and outdoor murals. She has completed commissions for such diverse organizations and events as The Ritz Carlton, Universal Music Group and The Superbowl. Her work has been featured in publications like the New York Times and Bombing Science.
